An Apology

Hello friends,

I missed posting yesterday.

I'm away at the moment, doing some more canvassing work (going door to door with Christian books and trying to help out the community). I prepared posts beforehand - I have drafts I could publish - but it doesn't feel honest for me to do that. It wouldn't come from my heart; it wouldn't be what I'm really feeling. I want to be real, and right now the realest thing I can do is miss a couple of weeks of posting. I hope that makes sense - and I will be back!

In the meantime, I'll leave you with this powerful quote from The Pursuit of God: "Whoever defends himself will have himself for his defense, and he will have no other; but let him come defenseless before the Lord and he will have for his defender no less than God Himself."

I hope you're all going well, and staying strong and joyful in the Lord. Tell me what's been going on for you! Do you struggle to post on schedule? Have you read The Pursuit of God? What have you been learning or feeling lately?

  1. Jessica! I wanted to come on over to your blog and leave a comment, since you always comment on mine, and your comments are always so nice! Granted, I'm commenting a little late, if it's in response to your last comment on mine! :/ I have been rather absent in the blogging world, as you know. It's encouraging to see how you continue to be faithful in your blogging (I guess that sentence could be taken two ways!).

    1. Oh Maggie! That's sweet of you! Don't worry - I struggle to keep up with commenting, and reading everyone's blogs, so I understand. Thanks so much for the comment, and praise God for the encouragement! xx

  2. Don't worry about it, m'dear, schedules are for routine only -- you make time in life for the things that you and enjoy. But things that are important and things that God are calling you for you also enjoy, so just do what works for you. I personally don't have a posting schedule, just because I post around ever two or three days, but everyone's created differently for very specific reasons. xxxx

    1. Amelia, you're so encouraging! Thanks for understanding, and reminding about what really matters.

You're a pro blogger to post that regularly! I've been meaning to ask you if you could give me the link to your blog, because I can't find it - unless, of course, it's private and you'd rather not.

Anyway, thanks once more for the comment! xx

  3. Don't worry, Jessica! Sometimes posting is just hard! I appreciate your striving for quality rather than just slapping up posts. I hope you have an amazing week.

  5. You are the sweetest for posting and apologizing for not posting! You totally don't have to do that though, life gets busy, it's understandable (: Hope you have a great week!

  6. Oh girl, you don't have to apologize for not posting on schedule! We're happy to receive a post whenever you're able to share one. :D
That is a great quote! So many times the Bible warns us against trying to do things in our own strength. And yet we're still prone to thinking we can do a better job of defending ourselves than God can.

When you comment:

1. My day will be brighter, my face smiling, and my heart blessed.

2. I’m likely to immediately go and explore your blog (if you have one) to find out more of your amazingness, and return the blessing.

3. I will then attempt to craft a response to you that will somehow fail to convey how much I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness. I’m grateful for every word of encouragement you give, and don’t be afraid to share some constructive criticism also; there’s always more to learn. In short: thank-you! :)
